Thien Phu Lam tourist site, an illegal construction work in Soc Son District

The works located in Lam Truong Village, Minh Phu Commune have violated forestry land use. Among those, Thien Phu Lam tourist site covering a total 57,500 square metres has 21 facilities, including restaurants and houses.

According to the conclusion of Hanoi City’s Inspectorate by late March, up to 688 works in Minh Tri and Minh Phu communes are built on forestry land. Besides the 18 works requested to be dismantled urgently for serious violations, many others would face the same fate in the coming time.

The infringements have been blamed for Soc Son District’s lax management in forestry land.

According to Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, such violating constructions have been called out by the Inspectorate of the central Government and Hanoi City since 2008, but the district authorities had not made a move against such a trend until 2017, allowing many more violations to occur. District authorities had identified 555 illegal constructions as of 2017, but to date, up to 485 out of this total have remained unaddressed.

The district government issued 63 decisions and notices to revoke land use right certificates having been issued to residents for areas located inside the protected forest, but until now, none of the areas have been recovered, and the residents remain.
