VietNamNet Bridge – The number of Chinese tourists coming to Vietnam has been on the rise and the new transportation route will help lure even more Chinese tourists to the country.
According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, China is assessing a plan to allow its citizens to come to Vietnam on boats departing from Hainan Island to the northern coastal province of Vietnam, Quang Ninh.
It is expected that after the boats are allowed to dock in Quang Ninh, the number of Chinese tourists taking this route to Vietnam will be around 1,000 daily. The number of Chinese tourists visiting Vietnam then will be three times higher than it is currently.
Reportedly, all tours to Vietnam for Chinese travelers end in Hanoi. This will provide travel agents as well as other hospitality service providers in the city a great chance to further expand their services for Chinese tourists. However, the department also advised that all travel agents and service providers need to improve their service quality with the view to attracting more and more customers from this populous market.
Since April this year, China has allowed its citizens to take boats to Quang Ninh Province of Vietnam from Beihai in China.
