Techmart ASEAN+3 closes with $100mil contracts signed

VietNamNet Bridge – The largest-ever Techmart ended in Hanoi on September 20, with over 2000 contracts and memorandums of understanding worth nearly US$100 million signed.

 

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Van Lang, chief organiser of the Techmart ASEAN + 3 hailed the event a success with it attracting over 200,000 visitors.

 

The largest deal was inked between the Mining Technology Institute and the Nam Mau Coal Company worth 240 billion dong, followed by a 150 billion dong contract between the Dong Anh Electric Equipment Company and National Power Transmission.

 

“The success of Techmart ASEAN + 3 has exceeded our expectations. This is one of the most outstanding events of the scientific and technological sector in 2009,” Lang said.

 

The organizing board presented 114 gold cups for the most outstanding technologies and equipment in the technological fair.

 

This year over 650 companies and institutions participated in Techmart.

 

They included 46 research and development institutes and centers, 14 universities, 10 scientific research programmes and 39 provincial and municipal departments of science and technology.

The closing ceremony was preceded by singing artisans from Bac Ninh province.
