VietNamNet Bridge - Individuals who wish to set up scientific research, technological development, or science and technology service organizations have been restricted to register under seven categories, under a new government decision.

Under the decision that will take effect on September 15, the seven fields of operation for science and technology organizations will be: natural science; social science; humanities; science and technology; medical, pharmacological and health sciences; agricultural science; and science and technology services.

According to the decision, founders must be totally liable for the operation of their organizations and comply with regulations of science and technology, press, and publishing, and related laws. They will have to forward their feedback on the policies of the Communist Party and the State to competent agencies rather than publicize them in the name of their organizations.

Individuals who wish to establish science and technology organizations under the new decision will have to follow the Ministry of Science and Technology’s guidelines.
