VietNamNet Bridge - Two publications by the World Conservation Union (IUCN) in Vietnam, “Guidelines for conserving agricultural biological diversification in Vietnam” and “Guidelines for cadres building biological preservation plans” were made public in Hanoi on September 26.

The books are based on original works previously published in Thailand. The contents of the publications were edited in accordance with environmental conditions in Vietnam.

The two publications are aimed at guiding individuals and offices operating in the field of agriculture in carrying out methods of analysing, conserving and improving biological diversification in agricultural cultivation and plantations.

IUCN is the largest global environmental network in the world and has 1,000 member organisations in over 150 countries with a total number of 10,000 volunteer scientists. Vietnam has become its member since 2003.

IUCN’s programmes focus on conserving biological diversification, increasing people’s awareness of environmental management and the preservation of forest and marine ecosystems.

IUCN in Vietnam has launched four programmes with the aim of promoting state management, environmental planning, environment services and climate change in the four-year period (2007-2010).
