VietNamNet Bridge – Yahoo plans to establish a company in Vietnam, said Ken Mandel, Vice Chairman of Yahoo Group, Executive Manager of Southeast Asia Yahoo, in a meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong last week.

 

The Yahoo senior official said following the opening of a representative office in Vietnam in late 2007, Yahoo plans to set up a company in Vietnam to conduct its investment plan in this market.

 

Yahoo will also set up joint venture firms in cooperation with Vietnamese partners to Vietnamise its contents. To advertise its image in Vietnam, Yahoo will introduce its website on TV.

 

The group also plans to carry out a project to help Vietnamese teachers and students learn how to use the Internet safely and responsibly.
