US, Vietnamese scientists aim new stage in cooperation

VietNamNet Bridge - The US Committee for Scientific Cooperation with Vietnam anticipates to teaming up with Vietnamese partners as part of their five-year scientific cooperation plan (2008-2012).

Chairwoman of the US Committee Prof. Judith Ladinsky delivered this message to Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien during their working session in Ha Noi on July 9. They also discussed ways to further broaden cooperation between the two countries' scientific associations.

According to Deputy Minister Tien, a memorandum of understanding on this scientific cooperation between the two sides will be signed in December this year.

Future cooperation will focus on the transfer of technologies in the fields of biotechnology, nano technology, skin grafting and the production of drugs to combat cancers.

Scientific agencies of the two countries have recently collaborated in healthcare, science and technology, agriculture and social sciences, according to the session, and have agreed to continue with this cooperation in the coming time
