Vietnam ranks 17th worldwide in Internet users

Bridge – The latest survey by Asia Digital Marketing Yearbook (www.asiadma.com) reveals that as of May 2007, the number of Internet users in Vietnam was 17th highest in the world.

 

According to the survey, around 17.5% of Vietnam’s population (more than 14 million people) are Internet users. Up to 72% of people between the ages of 18-30 use the Internet very often for chatting and 81% of people between the ages of 41-50 often read news on the Internet.

 

Leading the world in this field is the US with more than 211 million Internet users, accounting for nearly 70% of the population, followed by China and Japan.

 

There are more than 1.1 billion people in the world using the Internet and the 20 top countries and territories account for nearly 80% of the total Internet users in the world.
