VietNamNet Bridge – On the morning of February 13, many MobiFone subscribers complained that connections in Cau Giay, Tu Liem, Hoang Quoc Viet and other areas had suddenly stopped.
Mr. T. Vinh said, “For the whole morning, I couldn’t once make a phone call. I couldn’t receive any calls either. Nor could I contact the customer service number 18001090.”
Many subscribers in other parts of the city encountered similar problems.
In Hoan Kiem District, MobiFone subscribers also received the Missed Call alert for phone calls at 10.15 am on February 13 though they didn’t turn off or fail to answer their cell phones at any time.
On the afternoon of February 12, some MobiFone subscription numbers in the Lang Ha area had difficulty receiving calls from other networks. However, fixed phone calls and calls from the VinaPhone and MobiFone networks went through as usual.
According to MobiFone, on the morning of February 13, the number of phone calls suddenly shot up 4 times higher in the Hanoi area, blocking connection even though mobile networks including MobiFone have upgraded their systems to ensure smooth connection during Tet. When transmission is blocked, subscribers are advised to turn off their phones and restart to get connected again.
This morning, February 14, the 090/093 network reminded customers that due to an increasing demand for mobile calls before Tet, it might be difficult to make, receive phone calls and use other services. Such problems may occur in densely-populated areas during busy hours on New Year's Eve. Subscribers should avoid making phone calls or sending messages during these hours.
MobiFone is mobilising mobile transmission stations to take to the blocked areas.
