VietNamNet Bridge – Droughts are forecast to occur on a large scale in the country in the near future, seriously in southern central provinces, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The November rain fall was 50-80% lower than the average and is forecast to be low in the coming months.

Unseasonable rains will occur rarely, especially in the southern central and Central Highlands province.

Water flow in northern rivers is forecast to be 15-50% lower than the average rate. The water in the lower part of the Red River may be 30-50% lower than the average due to divergence to two major hydro power plants Hoa Binh and Thac Ba.
