VietNamNet – As of May 19, 2006, the CDMA technology-based S-Fone mobile network will provide international roaming services for account subscribers in the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Taiwan.

From now on, S-Fone subscribers will have roaming services enabling them to receive and make calls to RoK and Taiwan. Through S-Fone, mobile subscribers in those countries can maintain connection to their countries when they are in Vietnam.

S-Fone Marketing Manager, Do Van Quat, said that the firm is negotiating with other mobile service providers around the world to offer roaming services to many other countries.

In the second quarter of this year, the company will expand its roaming service to Japan and China, and then Thailand, India, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the US.

According to Mr Quat, S-Fone is considering schemes to provide international roaming services to pre-paid subscribers in the near future.
