VietNamNet Bridge – Apart from T&T Hanoi’s penalties, goalkeeper Duong Hong Son is facing dismissal from the national squad.

Officials of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and V-League organising board 2009 met in Hanoi on April 2, in a meeting chaired by VFF Chairman Nguyen Trong Hy, to consider the scandal related to goalkeeper Duong Hong Son.

Though T&T Hanoi didn’t report this case to the VFF, VFF decided to intervene because the case involved a member of the national squad.

The organising board of V-League 2009 asked T&T Hanoi to submit a report about the incident because both VFF and the V-league organising board only knew about this scandal through the media.

“After reading T&T Hanoi’s report, we will decide on the punishment for Hong Son, depending on his mistakes. It is necessary to determine whether Hong Son and Sy Manh’s behaviour against Hong Minh and Minh Duc was encouraged by alcohol or by a previous altercation,” said chief of the Discipline Board Nguyen Hai Huong.

Huong said if Sy Manh attacked Hong Minh and Minh Duc, his club, Vissai Ninh Binh, needs to punish this player as well. Ninh Binh’s Managing Director Tran Tien Dai said Sy Manh would not be suspended but be fined.

Meanwhile, the chief coach of the national squad, Henrique Calisto, refused to comment on the case, though he was very stern about Hoang Danh Ngoc’s scandal.

Calisto said this is a personal issue of Hong Son.
