Vietnamese takes gold at world junior Taekwondo champs

Vietnamese martial artist Hoang Ha Giang has secured a gold medal in the women’s 49 kg category at the 7th World Junior Taekwondo Championships in Izmir , Turkey.

Giang, who was champion of the last event hosted by Ho Chi Miuh City in 2006, beat Sweden ’s Agren Jennifer in the final after overcame rivals from Cyprus , Australia , the US and Russia .

As many as 44 athletes competed in the 49 kg class at the five-day tourney that is to wrap up on May 11.
