Five new national swimming records set

VietNamNet Bridge - Nguyen Huu Viet won the men’s 100m breaststroke in a record time of 1 minute 2.72 seconds at the National 25m-Pool Swimming Championship on Thursday in Ha Noi.


Viet smashed the previous record of 1:4.25 set by Hanoian Ha Anh Tuan last year.

Swimmer Hai Y of Long An won the women’s 50m gold medal in a record time of 33.15 seconds.

The Army’s Thanh Hai also set a new record in the men’s 200m freestyle event with a time of 1:53.96-two seconds faster than the old record set up by Ho Chi Minh City ’s Quang Hai two years ago.
