Vietnamese woman honoured with Kazuo Itoga Prize

VietNamNet Bridge – The Kazuo Itoga Memorial Prize honouring individuals in Asia-Pacific who have made  outstanding contribution to the life of the disabled were presented to two people this year, including Vietnam’s Vo Thi Hoang Yen.

Having earned a master’s degree on human development from the Kansas University, USA in 2004, Hoang Yen is currently a lecturer at HCM City Open University and the founder and operator of the Disability Resource and Development Programme since 2005 (www.drdvietnam.com).

 

She also founded and runs an e-library for the disabled as well as a scholarship fund for disabled students.

 

Hoang Yen left Vietnam for Japan on November 17 to participate in the award ceremony in Shiga, Japan on November 19.

 

The winners will receive a certificate and JPY1 million.
