VietNamNet Bridge – Movie star Jackie Chan declared: “The operation is a success,” after he left the operating room following a 2-hour operation at the Vietnam-Cuba Hospital on November 5.

The star arrived at the hospital and, after greeting parents of cleft palate children, he quickly changed clothes to enter the operating room.

He followed the operation for two hours and is reported to have dealt with it more comfortably than actress Ly Nha Ky and singer My Tam who were all in attendance.

When the operation finished, Jackie Chan lifted the child, Tran Quy Thien, 6, for others to see and smiled satisfactorily. He comforted the child before handing him back to his mother.

The mother, Nguyen Thi Thy, cried as she held the child. She said she and her family was very happy and felt lucky to have the kung fu star in attendance.

Jackie Chan left Vietnam this morning, November 6, to head to China before going to Thailand, Singapore and India to pursue his charity activities.
