VietNamNet Bridge – The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs has revoked licences of 16 labour exporting firms, including big ones.
Dao Cong Hai, Deputy Head of the Overseas Labour Management Agency, said under the Law on Overseas Labourers, 180 days after the law took effect labour exporting firms were required to have changed their licences. The law took effect on January 1, 2007 and 16 companies that still haven’t changed their licences have had their licences revoked.
However, these firms must still fulfill their responsibilities in regards to the labour supply contracts signed with workers and foreign partners till they expire.
Vietnam presently has over 100 manpower exporting companies.
