With the aim of protecting people's health, the government has urged relevant ministries and agencies as well as local authorities to map out concrete action plans and implement strict preventive measures including disinfecting poultry farms and slaughtering houses.

They were also required to closely supervise poultry imports through border provinces, speed up education campaigns among the local population, and conduct vaccination for poultry nationwide.

Viet Nam has completed this year's second round of vaccination for around 126 million poultry in all localities.
