According to the MARD, 28,000 households are living in high-risk areas, mainly in northern mountainous, central and Central Highlands provinces.

The ministry is now assisting northern Ha Tay, Ha Nam, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh, and central Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Ninh Thuan provinces in relocating local people in landslide-hit areas.

Total funding for the work was 39.5 billion VND (roughly 2.5 million USD) sourced from the State budget.

The MARD is working with the Ministries of Planning and Investment, and Finance on the relocation and resettlement of flood-affected residents in the northern provinces of Phu Tho and Ha Giang, as well as those in protected areas of the Tam Dao, Ba Be and Cat Tien National Parks.
