VietNamNet – A group of 13 Vietnamese students and tourists were taken into custody at the headquarters of the Papua Migration Agency in Giayapura, Indonesia for non=payment of hotel fees.

Indonesia’s Antara News Agency quoted Mr Giri Haryanto, Director of the Papua Migration Agency, as saying that the students failed to pay US$300 in fees for accommodations at Ratna Xentani Hotel, near the Giayapura capital of Papua.

This group includes one student from the HCM City Open University and 12 others from the Continuation Education Centre of central Nghe An Province, in Indonesia on holiday.

According to their passports, the students being held flew from Singapore to Bali on July 3 and came to Papua on July 8.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia has sent a diplomatic note to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to immigration authorities to help repatriate the students.
