VietNamNet – Just as the interrogation was drawing to a close, the owner of Phi Thuyen Discotheque, Tong Viet Hoa, made the shock admission that he could not deny his relations with Nam Cam, delaying proceedings for a further hour.
Throughout the morning, questions focused on clarifying the relations between Nam Cam and Hai Banh, Dung Ha, Tong Viet Hoa and those related to the death of Dung Ha. Most questions were based on Nam Cam’s and Hai Banh’s declarations.
However, Nam Cam denied his previous declaration, saying he was so tense at the time of making it that he wanted to “re-declare”. However, none of his new evidence contradicted his previous statements.
The interrogation’s climax came when the Judging Council asked about ties between the discotheque owner and Hai Banh, Tong Viet Hoan and Nam Cam.
Hoa at first said he didn’t know that Hai Banh was a guard for his discotheque, Phi Thuyen, but finally accepted that each time Dung Ha had come to disturb his discotheque, Hai Banh called him.
He also said that he didn’t meet Hai again after the first disturbance by the murdered woman on September 21 but the council proved that Hai came to Hoa’s house on September 30 and they met again after her death.
Regarding relations between Hoa and Nam Cam, Hoa said Nam Cam and Hai Banh did not tell him they were protecting his discotheque but he had discerned from Nam Cam’s way of talking that this was the case. The council also proved that each time Dung Ha disturbed Phi Thuyen Discotheque, Hai Banh called Hoa, who suggested on each occasion, “Why don’t you tell Mr Nam?”
Tong Viet Hoa’s interrogation ended with a question from the council: “After finding out that Dung Ha had been killed, you doubted that Hai Banh was the culprit. As a good citizen, why didn’t you inform the police?” Hoa said in such a serious situation, he couldn’t inform the police without sufficient evidence.
Today, September 18, the Judging Council will investigate the murder of policeman Phan Le Son.
