KidSmart computers encourage toddler geeks

VN is the first country in Asia – Pacific to take part in IBM's KidSmart programme.

VietNamNet – Thirty Child Discovery House computer systems are to be provided to selected kindergartens in 12 provinces and cities.

 

This activity comes under the IBM-funded early education programme named KidSmart. The program focuses on early IT access and understanding through personal computers designed for children.

 

Two five-day training courses for kindergarten teachers will be held in Hai Phong and Binh Duong. After completing the course, teachers will have a basic understanding of computer operations and the Edmark education programme.

 

This is the seventh batch of the computers IBM has installed in kindergartens since May 2000. Vietnam is the first country in Asia – Pacific to take part in the corporation’s KidSmart programme, which is operational in 30 countries.
