Lao officials graduate from political theory course

Twenty leading officials and managers of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) have graduated from a course in high-level political theory, the tenth of its kind to be organised by the Ho Chi Minh Political and Administrative Academy.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Hanoi on Jan. 12, associate professor Dr. Vu Dinh Hoe, vice director of the academy, praised the Lao officials for their successful completion of the course, thus contributing to strengthening and enhancing the special solidarity and friendship enjoyed by Vietnam and Laos.

“Armed with the up-to-date knowledge and valuable experience that they gained during the course, the Lao officials would possess a greater awareness of the importance of their work, thus helping to strengthen the numbers of leading officials and key managers within the Lao political system,” Hoe said.

Laos ’ ambassador to Vietnam , Sun Thone Xaya Chac, said that the course is a necessary and important activity to ensure an improvement in the Lao officials’ knowledge of political theory.

She said she hoped to continue this effective cooperation with Vietnam by offering political theory training for more Lao officials in the future.

The five-month course provided the 20 Lao trainees with a basic knowledge of Marxist-Leninist theory and Ho Chi Minh Thought, as well as lessons in leadership from the Communist Party of Vietnam and the LPRP.

As part of the course requirements, the trainees also conducted a number of field tours.
