VietNamNet Bridge - Vietnam requests that Israel cease all military acts and withdraw from the Gaza Strip, said Representative of Vietnam to the UN Security Council, Ambassador Le Luong Minh in New York on Jan. 3.

At the UNSC’s urgent meeting on tensions in the Middle East after Israel sent its troops to the Gaza Strip, the Vietnamese diplomat condemned all Israeli military acts against civilians and expressed deep concern about the escalating conflicts in the region since Israel attacked the Strip.

He also asked all parties concerned to facilitate emergency humanitarian relief for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, affirming Vietnam ’s support for the international community’s efforts to soon resume the truce agreement between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) which is controlling the Strip.

Regarding Israel ’s ground incursion into the Gaza Strip on the dawn of Jan. 4, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dung also requested that Israel stop the excessive use of force and immediately withdraw its troops from the Gaza Strip.

“ Vietnam condemns all military attacks that cause losses to civilians,” Dung said, adding that the country supports all international efforts to soon resume the truce agreement between parties concerned
