Prime Minister receives Lockheed Martin GM

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that the successful lift-off of Vinasat-1 has opened cooperation prospects between Vietnam and the Lockheed Martin in particular and between Vietnam and the US in general.

PM Dung made the statement while receiving General Manager Marshall Byrd of Lockheed Martin in Ha Noi on April 19. Lockheed Martin built Vietnam’s first satellite, Vinasat-1.

The government leader said he was pleased at the fine development of the Vietnam-US relationship, especially after the signing of the bilateral trade agreement, two-way trade and investment increased sharply.

He asserted his guest that the Vietnamese government is actively implementing cooperation agreements that had already been signed on economics, trade, investment, science-technology and education and training to benefit both peoples.

General Manager Byrd spoke highly of Vietnam ’s economic development and hoped to promote long-term cooperation with Vietnamese partners.

He also affirmed to support Vietnam in developing its post and telecommunications infrastructure.
