VietNamNet Bridge – A special music performance by Vietnamese and Korean artists took place at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on October 18 to open the Vietnam-RoK cultural week, held from October 18-25 in Hanoi and HCM City to celebrate 17 years of diplomatic ties.
South Korea’s famous band, Girls’ Generation, plus singer Son Ho Young and boy band U-kiss joined Vietnamese diva My Linh, pop star Dam Vinh Hung and the hip-hop dancing troupe Big Toe on stage at the National Convention Centre.
The event was aired live on Vietnam Television and ROK’s Arirang.
The cultural week, called “Joining Hands to Build the Future,” includes a focus on economic cooperation as well as cultural and international exchange.
The two countries will hold an economic development forum, talks between Vietnamese and Korean CEOs, a television and telecommunications forum, a job fair and many cultural activities.
In particular, the Korean Film Week will take place in Hanoi and HCM City, introducing the best Korean films in recent years. Additionally, a friendly match between the Vietnamese national football squad and Posco FC will be held on October 20 at the My Dinh National Stadium.
Vietnam is the first site of South Korea’s Korean Week this year. Vietnam week was held in South Korea from September 3-6.
