Mai was one of three Vietnamese contestants at the Asian Supermodel competition, besides Nguyen Hong Nhung and Nguyen Ngoc Oanh.

While Nhung entered the top ten of the Miss Vietnam 2008 pageant and Oanh was one of the top contestants at the Vietnam Supermodel 2008 competition, Mai has never won any title at a local beauty pageant so far.

However, she made a good impression at the Asian Supermodel pageant, her first international event. Mai also won the “Best Traditional Costume” award.
