Hanoi to have street of flowers around Hoan Kiem Lake

VietNamNet Bridge – Hanoi authorities have agreed, in principle, the building of a flower road around Hoan Kiem Lake.

According to the city’s Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, this will be one of the key tasks of the city to promote tourism the capital city in 2009.

 

The official assigned the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to work with the Department of Transport, the Police Agency, and the People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem District to design the plan and report to the Hanoi People’s Committee.

 

The city also plans to design one or two major city tours. Accordingly, some tourist cars will be allowed to run in the city’s centre during the peak hours. More information kiosks will be built to provide information to tourists.

 

The Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism suggested releasing a DVD advertising Hanoi’s tourism and culture. This DVD will be broadcast on TV, at tourist sites, and on aircrafts.

 

The city is considering the construction of a tourist information centre at the Noi Bai International Airport.
