Nude paintings on stone

VietNamNet Bridge – Photographer Thai Phien, who recently published a nude photo book named “Spring Time”, said his photos will be carved on stone.

On July 26, Thai Phien signed a contract to transfer all of his works to Viet An Art Company, which will carve Thai Phien’s nude photos into stone blocks as fine-art handicraft products.

“Some companies wanted to buy my photos to use on their products, for example a company producing coconut shelf paintings, but I wondered whether coconut shelf paintings could feature the soul of my photos,” Thai Phien said.

The photographer decided to sell his nude works to Viet An Art because photos carved on stone show around 90% of the soul of the original works.

“I think my photos that are ‘carved’ on paper in Spring Time book can exist for several tens of years but they will exist for thousands of years on stone,” Thai Phien said.
