Vietnam Idol 2008 commences

VietNamNet Bridge – The organising board of Vietnam Idol 2008 has announced its jury, which gathers a young and talented songwriter, a famous saxophone player and a pop star.

The jury has songwriter Ho Hoai Anh, saxophone player Tran Manh Tuan and pop star Siu Black. Of the three members, Siu Black is the old face: she worked as a jury member in the first Vietnam Idol competition last year.

This year, Thanh Thao will continue hosting the show, besides a new face, songwriter Sy Luan.

Vietnam Idol 2008’s first round will begin in late June nationwide, on June 25-26 in Can Tho city, July 1-3 in Hanoi, July 8-9 in Da Nang and July 17-19 in HCM City.

After the first round, 100 best voices will enter the Theatre round, during which 20 will be selected for the Studio round. The best 10 voices will be divided into two groups for men and women to select the best 5 male and female competitors for the Gala round from October 15 to December 5.

The prize for the Vietnam Idol 2008 winner is $10,000, $5,000 in cash and a $5,000 recording contract with Music Face.

Vietnam Idol 2008 will be broadcast on HTV7 channel of the HCM City Television Station.
