VietNamNet Bridge – French conductor Jean Deroyer and Vietnamese pianist Ly Giai Hoa will perform works by late 19th and early 20th century French composers with the HCM City Theatre Ballet and Symphony Orchestra (HBSO) in a concert today.

| All keyed up: Pianist Ly Giai Hoa. | Among the works to be featured will be the Ma mere l'Oye, a six-movement work by Ravel, and the Piano Concerto in G Minor, Op 22, a composition by Saint-Saens.
The concert will end with Roussel's Le Festin de l'araignee, Op 17.
Hoa completed her piano studies at the HCM City Music Conservatory in 1998 before studying with professor Wu Ying, dean of the Shanghai Music Conservatory's piano department.
She has performed in Shanghai and Hong Kong and in Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang and HCM City.
Conductor Deroyer studied at the Paris-based Superieur de Musique where he was awarded five first prizes in conducting, harmony, fugue, counterpoint and analysis.
He has worked for several well-known orchestras, including the Orchestra de Paris, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the Orchestre National d'Ile-de-France.
The show will begin at 8pm tonight at the Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square, District 1.
Tickets, ranging from VND60,000 (US$3.5) to 150,000 ($9), are available at the theatre's box office.
