VietNamNet Bridge - The
Italian Rainbow Festival was officially concluded Tuesday after six months with various activities in Hanoi and HCM City.

Addressing the festival’s closing ceremony in Hanoi yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister of Italy Massimo D’Alema who is on two-day official visit to Vietnam, said that though the page of Italian Rainbow Festival was closed, many other pages of co-operation were opening between Italy and Vietnam, adding that after the festival, the ties between the two nations would usher in a new pace.

“ Italian Rainbow is a symbol of peace and we’re happy to see the special attention from Vietnamese public to the event,” affirmed by Massimo D’Alema.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh said: “Italian Rainbow is not only the cultural bridge of the two countries, but also creates more opportunities for experience exchange and co-operation in economy, trade, architecture and tourism. The evidence is that during the festival, many co-operation agreements on healthcare, agriculture, education, science and technology have been signed.”

Evaluating the result of the festival, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Alfredo Matacotta Cordella held “Italian Rainbow is a programme rich and various in culture, attracting around 20,000 people attending over 50 events, from arts to science, from cuisine to cinematography, from design to economy and from co-operation to development. Italian Rainbow is not a finish but a start for future projects on co-operation between Italy and Vietnam.”

Italian Rainbow was concluded with a design and art exhibition ‘Italian Genius Now’, displaying works by Italian famous artists during the last decade from Luigi Pecci Museum, one of the main museums on the contemporary art of Italy.
