‘Graduate Flower’ by Vu Dung won the gold prize at the first Vietnam- Today photo contest. | VietNamNet Bridge - The Photo World magazine and the Vietnam Photographic Artists’ Association on August 15 launched the second photography competition entitled ‘Viet Nam-Today’.
All amateur and professional photographers at home and abroad, including foreigners, can join the contest with the option of submitting both black and white or colour pictures in either 30cmx45cm and 40cmx60cm and an unlimited number of entries.
Photos submitted to the contest must have not won prizes at any contest held or sponsored by the Vietnam Photographic Artists’ Association.
According to the organising board, with the theme ‘Vietnam in Integration’, the pictures should reflect the land and people of Vietnam in all fields of politics, socio-economy in its process of integration with the world. Photos featuring businesses and Vietnam’s potential in the renovation process are also encouraged.
Three first prizes plus VND 15 million, three second prizes and VND 10 million and three third prizes accompanied with VND 5 million will be presented to three genres: single photo and photo collections on economics and businesses and photo collections on society and culture.
In addition, there will also be 10 consolation prizes, three prizes for those who submits the most number of photos and 10 prizes for best pictures on businesses and businessmen.
Deadline for final submission is March 31, 2008. The award announcement and exhibition will be organised on May, 2008.
Photos can be sent to Photo World magazine, 9 Dao Duy Anh street, Hanoi; 171 Vo Thi Sau, Ho Chi Minh City and 384/30 Dien Bien Phu, Da Nang city.
Deputy President of the Vietnam Photographic Artists’ Association said that the contest aims to look for good pictures depicting the beauty of the land and people of Vietnam during the process of global integration, contributing to advertising the image of Vietnam to international friends.
