Vietnamese Canadian donates 15,000 valuable books

VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese Canadian translator Nguyen Tien Van has recently sent home 15,000 books from his personal library to donate to the HCM City Social Sciences Institute.

It cost Nguyen Tien Van US$4,000 to transport this 7.5-ton book package from Toronto to Binh Duong province. At present, responsible authorities are completing procedures to send the books to the institute.

According to the donor, these books have been bought and collected for the past 20 years. Some cost him just a few dollars. Others were worth several hundred. Most are works of literature and research written in Chinese, French and Vietnamese. There are also 1,000 encyclopedias and professional dictionaries.
