VietNamNet Bridge – Film producer Tran Vinh has made 207 film episodes in 48 feature films on the revolutionary war, and soldiers and war, a record for the Vietnam film industry.
Tran Vinh is one of the first actors trained at the Army Art School. He studied both music and drama there. He soon left school to join an art troupe to the Truong Son range during the war.
After 1974, he was sent to work for the General Department of Politics’ drama troupe. At that time he played many key roles depicting the image of soldiers. He then turned to cinema and made his name known from the film ‘Ve Noi Gio Cat’ (To the Wind and Sand).
Not being content with his position as an actor, since 1989, Tran Vinh learned to become a film director. With a great passion for the job, he soon became a leading director on the theme of soldiers and the war.
For over 21 years, Tran Vinh has produced 207 episodes of 48 feature series. Many of his films are familiar to Vietnamese people.
Tran Vinh said “to achieve this result, he has been supported by many of his friends, particularly his senior colleague Huy Thanh.”
