Lam Dong: Survey of gong cultural heritage

VietNamnet Bridge - The Central Highlands province of Lam Dong will launch survey of the Gong cultural heritage, the biggest of its kind so far, to be from now till the end of 2007.

The Cultural and Information Department of Lam Dong said on Mar. 20 that the three-step survey will be carried out in the five ethnic minority groups of Ma, Co Ho, Chu Ru, Xtieng and M'Nong.

In addition to musical notation, recording sound and images, and the instruments and the artists themselves, Lam Dong province will also set up a file for Gong art archives and disseminate information about Gong art among the community.
