Miss Vietnam misses Miss Grand Slam 2006’s top 20 list

VietNamNet Bridge – The list of the top 20 beauty queens of Miss Grand Slam 2006 has been announced. Miss Vietnam Mai Phuong Thuy didn’t make it.

Of the 20 beauties, 10 won titles at Miss Universe 2006. They are Erin McNaught from Australia, Alice Panikian from Canada, Valerie Domínguez from Colombia, Kurara Chibana from Japan, Priscila Perales from Mexico, Lourdes Arévalos from Paraguay, Zuleyka Rivera from Puerto Rico, Lauriane Gillieron from Switzerland, Kenisha Thom from Trinidad & Tobago, and Tara Conner from the US.

5 of the top 20 who took part in Miss World 2006 are Sabrina Houssami from Australia, Jane Borges from Brazil, Tatiana Kucharova from Czech Republic, Natasha Suri from India and Stephanie Colosse from Martinique.

And the 4 beauties of the top 20 who came from Miss Earth 2006 are: Hil Hernandez from Chile, Amruta Patki from India, Francys Barraza from Poland and Marianne Puglia from Venezuela. Only one contestant of Miss International 2006 appears in the top 20 list: Daniela Di Giacomo from Venezuela.

Though she was one of the top 50 of the 100-contestant Miss Grand Slam 2006 contest, Miss Vietnam Mai Phuong Thuy didn’t make it to the top 20. Miss Grand Slam 2006 is a contest for the top contestants of 5 beauty contests in 2006: Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss International Tourism. Miss Grand Slam 2006’s judges include: Donald Nguyen (Vietnam), Glauro Simões (Brazil), Pasquale Tripoldi (the US/Italy), Peter Sereno (Australia/the Philippines), Martina A. (Czech Republic), Nick C. (Turkey/New Zealand), Ed Dominguez (Panama), Sifiso Bande (South America), Michael Knittel (Germany), and Sergio Gómez (Spain).
