VietNamNet Bridge – A free guitar concert will kick off at 8pm today at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi with the participation of guitarist Nguyen Duc Hung.

At the concert Hung will play together with three other young guitarists from Hanoi.

The four will play different musical compositions for solo, duo and quartet composed by world famous musicians including Johann Sebastian Bach, Turlough O’Carolan, Federico Moreno-Torroba, Joaquin Rodrigo and Leo Brouwer.

Nguyen Duc Hung is one of Vietnam’s few internationally honoured guitarists. He studied at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin from 2002 to 2006 under Prof. Rainer Feldmann, and graduated with honours just a few months ago. In 2000 he received third prize in the well-known German national competition “Jugend musiziert“; in 2004 his playing won him first place in Vietnam’s competition for young guitar talents.

The concert in Goethe Institute was rehearsed with young graduates and instructors of the Hanoi Conservatory.
