After two publishing runs, ‘35 years and 7 days’ published by Kim Dong Publishing House has sold 40,000 editions, becoming their best-selling book of the year. ‘35 years and 7 days’ follows Frederic Whitehurst’s story: including the seven days visiting Da Nang, where he fought, and the 35 years he spent holding the diary.

It includes his memories and experiences of the war, the land, and particularly the diary’s author, Dang Thuy Tram.

In Hanoi, ‘35 years and 7 days’ sold so well that some sellers spontaneously elevated its original price from VND15, 000 to VND32, 500, however Kim Dong has warned readers that they plan to eradicate this problem with a warning on Vietnam Television.
