National theatrical drama festival wraps up

VietNamNet - The National Drama Festival closed at the Thang Tam (August) Theatre in the port city of Hai Phong late last week.

 

The prize for the best play was presented to “The message from Dien Bien” performed by the Military Drama Troupe.

 

The Hanoi Drama Theatre’s Ashes and Dust won the prize for the best director (Honoured Artist Xuan Huyen) and the prize for best playwright/artist (writer Trieu Huan) and a honourable mention for the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association.

 

In addition, 23 gold medals, 37 silver medals were presented to artists.

 

The festival, held from October 14-22, gathered 15 plays of 15 drama troupes nationwide.
