Former table tennis stars to do battle

VietNamNet Bridge – An open tournament for former national table tennis team players will be held in HCM City on December 29-31.

The event at Tan Binh Gymnasium is expected to gather big names such as 1995, 1997 and 2001 Southeast Asian Games winner Vu Manh Cuong and former national team head coach Nguyen Duc Long, both from Hai Duong Province, and 1995 SEA Games silver medallist and 1995 and 1996 national champion Ly Minh Triet of the People’s Police squad on the men’s side.

On the women’s side, Vu Thi Noel, Nguyen Thi Tuyet, both of the Army team, and Nguyen Bich Ngoc from Hanoi, have confirmed their attendance.

Organisers hope the competition will be an opportunity for the former top players to compete and for table tennis lovers to watch their idols’ once again.
