Vietnamese players (in white jersey) score 2-1 over Myanmar in the International U19 Football Tournament in Nha Trang City on Thursday.

The score redeemed his mistake when he missed a spot kick in the second half time of the match against Myanmar.

It’s the second win for the host at the tournament after a 2-0 win over Chinese Taipei on Wednesday.

The win took Viet Nam to the top of the table in the five-team tournament with six points.

Striker Tuan Anh opened the score for Viet Nam 13 minutes into the game when he grabbed an accurate right cross from his team to net the ball.

However, Sone Naing of Myanmar equalised the game in the 19th minute with a specular finish at a close-range shot, stunning Vietnamese goalie Truong Thai Hieu and the defence.

Vietnamese Van Xuan and Viet Anh then missed clear chances to score for the host in the last minutes of the first half.

Striker Le Van Nam missed a clear chance just three minutes into the second half, when he sent a spot kick high over the bar.

In an earlier match yesterday, U-19 Hoang Anh Gia Lai were held to a goalless draw by South Korean Gwangju FC.

Viet Nam will play Hoang Anh Gia Lai on April 18th.
