VietNamNet Bridge – Under impacts of the super-storm Usagi, hundreds of houses and kiosks in the southern region have been damaged by tornadoes in the last two days.
The Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control of the Mekong Delta provinces said that in the past two days, nearly 100 houses in the provinces of Soc Trang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu and Tien Giang were collapsed and over 240 others lost their roofs.
A tornado appeared on the morning of September 23 damaged 225 houses in Bac Lieu and Soc Trang provinces.
Mr. Tran Van Hoa in Ward 8, Bac Lieu City said his auto repair shop was swept away by the tornado.
Three people in Bac Lieu and nine in Soc Trang were injured.

Tornadoes made many trees and electrical poles collapse, causing widespread power outages. More than 1,000 policemen, soldiers, militia and young people were mobilized to help families whose houses were damaged.
Soc Trang province provided VND200 million ($10,000) for victims in Nga Nam district.
At Tran Huynh Market in Bac Lieu City, nearly kiosks were pulled down by the tornado. This was the biggest whirlwind so far this year in southern Vietnam.
