Further, the fire occurred at the time when small traders use their capital to buy goods to serve an increase in demands for the new year, so the losses were higher.

To share the burden, Viet Nam Ambassador in Russia Nguyen Thanh Son on Monday called for the Vietnamese community in Russia to help the small traders overcome this difficult situation.

The embassy also asked the consulate office to prepare for supporting the victims.

On Monday, the embassy collected 200,000 rubles ($3,400) from donors.

Orenburg City, some 1,500km southeast of Moscow, has some 300 Vietnamese doing business, mostly in “the mall of Vietnamese”, according to a Vietnamese national living in the city.
