Chin Well Fasteners Viet Nam Ltd Co in Nhon Trach District has been reported to have dumped 1,600 tonnes of muddy substances containing chemicals at four separate spots.

An initial examination has found that the earth around the spots has been contaminated.

The inspection team has taken samples for further examination.

Authorities also said that the company was responsible for cleaning up the sites.

However, there was insufficient basis for criminal charges, announced Colonel Nguyen Van Tho from Dong Nai’s police force on Tuesday.

Dong Nai authorities are overseeing the clean up.

In July 2016, Chin Well Fasteners Viet Nam was also caught dumping untreated sewage.
