Transgender enters top 16 of Vietnam Idol 2012

VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam Idol 2012, the fourth season, has a special contestant.

From the qualifier round, a Hanoi girl – Nguyen Huong Giang – has impressed judges for her good appearance, which is said to be appropriate for a performer.

Though Giang’s voice is not perfect, she has passed round by round thanks to her great efforts.

After episode 5, aired on September 7, Giang would be remembered by the public after her secret was disclosed.

In a conversation with judge Quang Dung, Huong Giang admitted that she competed at Vietnam Idol 2010, but as a male contestant, named Nguyen Ngoc Hieu.

“I have a great passion for singing and any change in my life is for art. I do not change myself to have love or happiness. Everyone has their choice. I think this is what I’m and when I want to stand on stage with some image, I have to change to realize it,” Huong Giang said.

The Hanoi’s girl is one of the top 16 contestants who are given cards to the next round, Studio.
