Thanh Hoa: Traffic police stop violator by putting a blackjack in front wheel
VietNamNet Bridge – Traffic policemen in Thanh Hoa province are suspected of throwing their blackjack into the front wheel of a motorbike to stop the traffic violators.

A clip was posted in Youtube early this week, showing dozens of people, including some traffic policemen, policemen of the 113 special taskforce and civilians standing around two motorbikes that fell to the ground. A truncheon suspected of belonging to the traffic policemen was stuck inside the front wheel of a motorbike.

According to the one who posted the one-minute clip, the incident happened in late October in Thanh Hoa province. Two young men were riding a Wave motorbike without wearing helmets and the traffic police threw their blackjack at the bike’s front wheel to stop the vehicle. The motorbike, thus, fell into a running SH motorbike and both felt to the ground.

Colonel Le Van Nghiem, Thanh Hoa’s police chief, said that the video
clip is fabricated, because if the baton was actually stuck inside the
spokes of a moving wheel, it would have broken, while the baton
 in the clip remained intact.

Many people have expressed their disagreement over Thanh Hoa’s traffic police officers, saying that that act was dangerous.

Colonel Le Van Nghiem, Thanh Hoa’s police chief, told Tuoi Tre that the video clip is fabricated, because if the baton was actually stuck inside the spokes of a moving wheel, it would have broken, while the baton in the clip remained intact.

Colonel Tran Van Thuc, chief of the office of Thanh Hoa’s City Police Department, said that local police does not support any policy that tries to stop traffic violators by throwing a blackjack into their bikes. Thuc said that police in Thanh Hoa city are verifying the origin of the clip.

Earlier, the local media reported that Thanh Hoa police used fishing nets to catch illegal racers and those driving bikes dangerously on the street. The story also appeared on some foreign newspapers.
