Prime Minister nominates four Deputy PMs, 22 ministers
VietNamNet Bridge – This morning, August 2, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung nominated four Deputy Prime Ministers and 22 ministers to the National Assembly (NA) for approval.

After discussing the new cabinet’s structure and organization in groups for one day, the NA approved the Resolution on the structure and organization of the government in the morning of August 2.

After that, the PM read list of nominees of the cabinet, including four Deputy PMs and 22 ministers.

The four Deputy PM nominees include: Hoang Trung Hai, Nguyen Thien Nhan, Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Vu Van Ninh.

Mr. Hai and Mr. Nhan are currently Deputy PMs, Mr. Phuc is Chairman of the Government Office and Mr. Ninh is Minister of Finance. All of them are under 60 years old. Hai is the youngest, 52.

The four Deputy PMs will be in charge of the following fields: economic affairs in general and rural development policies; sectorial economics and production; culture, education, science and technology; internal affairs and anti-corruption.

Of the 22 nominated ministers, seven are members of the current government. The youngest nominee is Vu Duc Dam, Party Secretary of Quang Ninh province, 48, and the oldest is Minister of Defense, Phung Quang Thanh, 62.

The two female ministers are Pham Thi Hai Chuyen and Nguyen Thi Kim Tien.

After discussing in groups today, the NA will vote on the new cabinet on August 3. PM Nguyen Tan Dung will deliver his inauguration speech on behalf of the new cabinet the same day.

2. Minister of Trade and Industry Vu Huy Hoang, 58, from the northern port city of Hai Phong, a doctoral degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee.

3. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, 55, from Nam Dinh province, a doctoral degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee.

4. Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh, 59, from the central city of Da Nang, a bachelor degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee.

5. Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan, 56, from Hanoi, a doctoral degree holder, a professor, a member of the Party Central Committee.

6. Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong, 58, from the northern province of Vinh Phuc, a doctoral degree holder, an associate professor, a member of the Party Central Committee.

9. Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh, 52, from Nam Dinh, an MA degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He is now Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

10. Minister of Finance Vuong Dinh Hue, 54, from the central province of Nghe An, a doctoral degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He has just been dismissed from the Chief State Auditor position.

11. Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh, 58, from Hanoi, a bachelor degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He is now Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment.

12. Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son, 58, from Hanoi, a doctoral degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He is now Vice chief of the Central Committee for Information.

13. Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thai Binh, 57, from the southern province of Tra Vinh, a bachelor degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He is now Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and the chief of the Government’s Committee for Religion.

14. Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang, 51, from Nam Dinh, a doctoral degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He is now Chairman of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.

15. Minister of Construction Trinh Dinh Dung, 55, from the northern province of Vinh Phuc, an MA degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He is now Deputy Minister of Construction.

16. Minister of Science and Technology, 56, from the northern province of Thai Binh, a doctoral degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He is currently permanent Deputy Minister of Science and Technology.

17. Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, 52, from the central province of Ha Tinh, a doctoral degree holder, an associate professor, a member of the Party Central Committee. She is now Deputy Minister of Health.

18. Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Minh Quang, 58, from Ha Tinh province, a member of the Party Central Committee, Party Secretary of the party cell of central agencies. He was Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Party Secretary of Lai Chau province.

19. Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, 59, from the northern province of Bac Giang, an engineer, a member of the Party Central Committee. She is now the vice chair of the Central Inspection Committee.

20. Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Van Binh, 50, from the northern province of Phu Tho, a PhD degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He is now deputy governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.

21. Government Chief Inspector Huynh Phong Tranh, 56, from the southern province of Hau Giang, a bachelor degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He is now Party Secretary of Lam Dong province.

22. Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Vu Duc Dam, 48, from the northern province of Hai Duong, a doctoral degree holder, a member of the Party Central Committee. He is now Party Secretary of Quang Ninh province.
