VietNamNet – Vietnamese students have won the prize titled “educational initiatives in environmental protection” at the fifth Search for Southeast Asian Young Scientists (SSYS 5) Festival.

The event took place from March 6-9 on Penang Island, Malaysia with the participation of high-school students from ten member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The Vietnamese team comprised two students, Nguyen Kim Hoa from Hanoi’s Kim Lien High School and Le Hai Yen from Hanoi’s Thang Long High School. They presented a project entitled “Organising clubs to protect and develop forest resources at high schools in Vietnam”.

The jury praised their project for its high creativity and feasibility. This is the first time Vietnamese students have participated in SSYS.
