VietNamNet Bridge – The owner of a HCM City-based company, specializing in producing construction materials, has decided to spend eight billion VND to purchase the Bentley Continental GT, a model commemorating the 60th anniversary of Bentley’s factory in Crewe, England.

The imported Bentley
The beige Bentley Continental GT arrived in Vietnam on December 26, the importer is going through procedures to get the car cleared from the HCM City port. This is one of only 400 Continental GT Diamond’s produced.

The coupe was ordered by a Vietnamese car importer through a US dealer several months ago. GT Diamond series are equipped with especially luxurious interiors and the maximum speed is 318 km/h.

A car connoisseur estimated that the imported Bentley Continental GT is worth $180,000. As the car went through official channels, it will be worth $475,200 after all is said and done (60% import tax, 50% luxury tax, and 10% VAT).

Bentleys are a favorite among Vietnamese connoisseurs. The owner of cosmetics firm Shiseido Vietnam Le Hoai Anh owns a red Bentley Continental Flying Spur that arrived in Vietnam on November 24.

Car dealers say a brand new Bentley Continental Flying Spur 2008 is valued at $448,773, after tax.

In early 2007, there was the rumor that a used Bentley Continental was sold by Hoang Trong Company to an anonymous Mr. K for $500,000.
